Pool Table Assembly

New table, old table, delivered table — we set it up dead level and ready to break.

Whether it came off a showroom truck or out of your uncle's garage, a pool table only plays as well as it was installed. We handle three-piece slates of any thickness and tables ranging from 7, 8, or 9 feet. We assemble the frame, set and seam the slate with hot beeswax, level to within a hair using our two-step leveling process, stretch the cloth wrinkle-free, and mount the rails to spec so bank shots come back true. If you are a serious pool player, we are the company you want working with your table for a perfect game — we play too! All work carries a 30-day warranty.

Pool table slate with cloth pulled back revealing a taped seam repair — this is why residential tables use three-piece slate

Someone actually used tape to repair a slate seam. Three-piece residential slate is the only type designed for home play — not one-piece bar slate.

Raw three-piece pool table slate slab leaning against a wall showing drill holes and weight

A single slate slab — hundreds of pounds of raw stone that has to be shimmed, seamed, and leveled to a hair before the cloth ever goes on.

This is what you are wrestling with on every install — real slate, real weight, zero room for error.

Machinist levels across the felt — our two-step leveling process on a beautiful ornate table. Brunswick, Olhausen, and Proline are our specialty.

Levels still on the table after the final check — dead level from rail to rail. This is what a 10 out of 10 looks like when it is done right.

Mid-leveling on a grey felt table — two machinist levels reading true before we call it done.

A pool table is the boss level of assembly — the one job that earns a straight 10. Three separate slabs of slate, hundreds of pounds together, have to be set, seamed, and leveled to within about ten-thousandths of an inch across the whole surface. Eyeballing it doesn't cut it. This is machinist work with a beeswax finish.

1

Set and seam the three-piece slate

Each slab gets set on the frame, shimmed, and the seams filled with hot beeswax so the surface is one continuous plane with no lip between the pieces.

The risk: A seam you can catch with a fingernail becomes a bank shot that dies or hops — and once the cloth's stretched over it, fixing it means starting the whole job over.
2

Level to within 0.010" with a machinist level

We work our two-step leveling process, shimming under the slate until a machinist level reads true everywhere — not the bubble level from the hardware store.

The risk: A table that looks level to the eye can still roll every ball toward one rail — invisible until you're mid-game and every shot drifts the same way.
3

Stretch the cloth wrinkle-free and torque the rails

The cloth gets stretched drum-tight with no wrinkles at the pockets, then the rails mount and every bolt torques to spec so the cushions rebound true.

The risk: A loose rail or a wrinkle at the pocket and your banks come back dead or crooked — a table that fights you every single rack.

Slate seamed into one true plane, leveled to a hair, cloth stretched drum-tight, and rails torqued so the banks come back true — that's why a three-piece slate table is the only job on the board that earns a straight-up Pain in the Ass Factor of 10. We play too, partner. Let us set it up dead level.

Brunswick Black Wolf Pro — tournament-grade 7-footer with silver corner hardware. Slate set, cloth stretched, rails mounted true.
