Here's the part the manual buries on page 9 and 3 — the console data cable. On a NordicTrack Commercial 1750, that wire has to run all the way up the console support leg and click into the upright without getting pinched, crimped, or drilled clean through. Get it wrong and you've got a $200 dead console before you've walked a single mile.
Route the data cable up the console support leg
Feed the belly-pan wire up through the upright and mate it to the console wire. The connectors have to slide together with an audible click — if they don’t, you flip one and try again, gently.
Seat it without pinching the wire
While a second person holds the upright against the base, the harness cannot get caught between the bracket and the frame as everything draws tight.
Torque the uprights without screwing through the harness
Two 3/8" screws with star washers up top, two more into the side of the bracket. Every one goes in blind, right next to the wire you just routed.
Routing that cable up the support leg and seating it without pinching, crimping, or drilling straight through it — that's why the console hookup earns a Pain in the Ass Factor of 9.
